KPV is the C-terminal tripeps sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Research has examined its interactions with inflammatory signaling pathways, particularly in intestinal and epithelial models.

RESEARCH SNAPSHOT

Research-associated effects

Areas of effect or outcome that researchers have investigated or reported in the literature. These are research associations, not guarantees of a particular result.

Evidence varies by compound, model, formulation, route, endpoint, and study design. Component-level findings do not automatically establish the same effect for a blend.

RESEARCH NOTE

A very small peps

FOCUS 01TRIpepsRESEARCH AREA
FOCUS 02INFLAMMATIONRESEARCH AREA
FOCUS 03PRECLINICALRESEARCH AREA

KPV consists of three amino acids: lysine, proline, and valine. Its small size and relationship to alpha-MSH have made it a subject of mechanistic research.

03

RESEARCH NOTE

What researchers have measured

Cell and animal studies have investigated inflammatory signaling, including pathways involving NF-kappaB and MAPK. Some experimental intestinal models have also been used to explore inflammatory responses.

04

RESEARCH NOTE

What remains unknown

Preclinical findings do not establish a safe or effective human therapy. The key research questions include delivery, pharmacokinetics, dose-response relationships, and controlled human outcomes.
